Lab report Outline for bridge project:
Header and title
Hypothesis:
(Ex.: The chosen structure for this bridge is the best possible choice to obtain an efficient structure that will support a maximum of weight while being as light as possible.)
Material: -describe and justify the chosen design;
-describe the construction process;
-describe the material used for the construction;
-describe the material used to test the bridge.
Experimentation: -measure and record the weight of the bridge;
-describe (with diagram) the step by step process of
experimentation;
-Record the maximum weight supported by the structure;
-calculate the efficiency ratio.
Discussion: -Was the failure of my bridge a parts failure or a global structural
failure?
-How can I compare my bridge’s performance with the other bridges?
-Can I identify a structure defect in any of them?
-Could I improve my design or is it globally corrupt? Explain why.
-What would I chose as a structure if I was to compete again in a
bridge contest and why?
Conclusion: -did I demonstrate my hypothesis and why?
